Vietnam will celebrate their participation in TEIN3 as part of the Fourth National VinREN Forum to be held on 20 March 2009 in Hanoi. It will see the attendance of representatives of the EC Delegation, ministry officials and users.

The 20th March 2009, Hanoi-Vietnam – Researchers and citizens across Asia-Pacific, including Vietnam, will benefit from the new TEIN3 high-speed research and education data-communications network. The three year, US$25 million investment by the European Union and the Asian project partners will support critical collaborations between research centres, educators and students across the region and the globe in fields of high societal benefit, such as telemedicine, e-learning, disaster warning and crop research. Network capacity is also being provided by some project partners, making this the largest international research network in Asia.

On June 20 2008, National Center for Scientific & Technological Information and University of Thai Nguyen has signed an agreement of cooperation to set up Network Operation Center for Northern mountainous area at Thai Nguyen University.

On 27-28 March 2008, the third National VinaREN Forum was held in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.

According to ICT-Forum event submitted at CanalAVIS on September 2008 11th and 19th , a medical forum will be organized and NACESTI Attends the lectures through the closest designated venue: Room 201, 24 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi.

On June 20 2008, National Center for Scientific & Technological Information and University of Thai Nguyen has signed an agreement of cooperation to set up Network Operation Center for Northern mountainous area at Thai Nguyen University.

To implement the Government policies on establishing a network for research and education of Vietnam, Ministry of Science and Technology in cooperation with the related ministries has already conducted a network project and established VinaREN with the 15 members – the leading research and education institutions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
